Garry and Chris operate two modern fleet trucks to transport furniture all over NSW.

Garry Johanson

When Garry Johanson was 16 he started working for his father, Arthur. After Arthur passed away, Garry moved the business to Morisset and started Lake Macquarie Removals in 1986. Whilst the business was in its early stages, Garry contracted to Grace Brother Removals on the North Shore of Sydney. As the Lake Macquarie area started to boom, so did the business and Garry had enough local work that he no longer needed to contract to Grace Brothers. With more than 45 years of experience in furniture removals, Garry continues to lead Westlake Removals from strength to strength.

Chris Johanson

Chris Johanson, Garry’s son, is a 3 generation removalist. He started work with the business in 1998 and now has 20 years’ experience in the industry. Chris also has training and experience in professional packing techniques.

Our Fleet

At Westlake Removals, we maintain two fully equipped modern fleet trucks. These trucks are Pantech class, specifically designed for removals and furniture transport. Our largest has a 7tonne capacity, but we also own a smaller truck for jobs with difficult-to-access sites. These are our fleet’s specifications:

  • 7-tonne, 50 cubic-metre Pantech
  • 4-tonne, 20 cubic-metre Pantech
  • 1-tonne ute
